On 10 March, a delegation from WUC and UZDM began an advocacy visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg to raise awareness of ongoing human rights violations against Uyghurs and strengthen engagement with European policymakers. The delegation was led by WUC President Turgunjan Alawdun and Vice President Zumretay Arkin, alongside WUC Information Center Director Iptihar Abdureshit and EU Advocacy Officer Bernardo Kaiser, and was joined by Dolkun Isa, President of the Uyghur Center for Democracy and Human Rights.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the delegation held a series of meetings with Members of the European Parliament, including Rapha\u00ebl Glucksmann, Engin Eroglu, Reinis Poz\u0146aks, Kathleen Van Brempt, Lukas Sieper and Ilhan Kyuchyuk. Discussions focused on the latest developments in East Turkistan, the Chinese government\u2019s evolving repression of Uyghurs, and the need for continued EU action on accountability for the Uyghur genocide including EU forced labour regulations.
