Dolkun Isa, President of the Uyghur Center for Democracy and Human Rights (UZDM), participated in the commemoration marking the 30th anniversary of the passing of Isa Yusuf Alptekin, organized by the World Uyghur Congress (WUC).
During the commemorative events, Dolkun Isa delivered an opening speech and also spoke on one of the panels, reflecting on Isa Yusuf Alptekin’s legacy and the ongoing struggle of the Uyghur people for independence, dignity, and justice.
The programme began with an evening exhibition on 19 December and continued on 20 December with a high-level conference. The events were opened by WUC President Turgunjan Alawdun and brought together prominent Uyghur leaders, Turkish parliamentarians, and political figures who have consistently defended the Uyghur cause.
Participating Turkish parliamentarians included Selçuk Özdağ (Gelecek Partisi), Doğan Bekin (Deputy Chair, Yeniden Refah Partisi), Feramuz Üstün (AK Party Member of Parliament), and Av. İdris Şahin (DEVA Partisi).
