More than 250,000 judgments of guilty

Between 2017 and 2019, the numbers jumped massively during a harsh crackdown on Uyghurs and other largely Muslim minorities, the report said. In 2017, for example, nearly 100,000 people were convicted, compared with fewer than 40,000 the year before, according to HRW.
