Yesterday in Washington, Uyghur organizations gathered for a joint press conference to mark Uyghur Genocide Recognition Day.
Four years ago today, this day was established following the historic Uyghur Tribunal — a people’s tribunal initiated by UZDM President and former WUC President Dolkun Isa. This landmark tribunal delivered a groundbreaking judgment, documenting the atrocities committed against the Uyghur people and concluding that the PRC has perpetrated genocide and crimes against humanity.
At yesterday’s press conference, Dolkun Isa delivered an important and powerful speech, reflecting on the immense challenges faced in creating the Tribunal and the unwavering resilience of our communities in the face of repression.
