From June 11–13, 2026, the International Uyghur Forum (IUF) was successfully held in Berlin, Germany, under the theme “Ten Years Since the Camps: From Recognition to Accountability — What’s Next?” The Forum was jointly organized by the World Uyghur Congress (WUC) and the Uyghur Center for Democracy and Human Rights (UZDM).
The Forum brought together more than 200 participants from 25 countries, including 80 speakers and over 20 lawmakers, for three days of discussion, reflection, and collaboration. Guests from across the world—including representatives from the United States, Canada, Czechia, France, Germany, and Uyghur communities worldwide—contributed to a rich and diverse exchange of perspectives.
Discussions focused on a wide range of issues, including accountability for transnational repression and forced labour, solidarity among communities and movements affected by the rule of the People’s Republic of China, the mental health and well-being of activists, Uyghur and Turkic history and identity, and testimonies from camp survivors and former members of China’s repressive apparatus.
The Forum concluded with the adoption of the IUF Berlin Declaration.
